Selena Gomez arrived in New York City ready to do press for her upcoming film The Dead Don’t Die and have a fashion marathon while she was at it. Gomez has been in Manhattan for the last three days, and so far, she has worn six outfits. On her first day photographed in New York alone, she wore three looks.
Gomez selected a wide range of summer outfits. There’s been black PJ sets and rainbow sequined dresses; all the color for some looks, all black for others. Here, a look outfit-by-outfit at the ensembles Gomez and her stylist Kate Young have put together.
Outfit 1: The Casual Lunch Look
On June 10, Gomez was photographed at Nobu for her first public outing in New York City. She was dressed casually to grab lunch, wearing a tan and black striped sweater, a black blazer, blue cuffed jeans, and black boots.
Outfit 2: The Celine Feathered Mini Dress
June 10 was The Dead Don’t Die‘s big New York City premiere night, and Gomez’s wardrobe was all black for the occasion. She had a lot of fun in this flirty Celine feathered mini dress and accessorized with Cartier jewels.
Outfit 3: The Black PJ Set
Gomez changed before going to the after party for The Dead Don’t Die‘s New York City premiere. She decided on a sleepwear-inspired look, dressing up a black velvet pajama set with high heels and a black purse.
Outfit 4: THE Marc Jacobs Rainbow Sequined Dress
Gomez switched it up from her monochrome scheme for her second day of press on June 11, choosing a metallic rainbow sequined dress by THE Marc Jacobs, the designer’s new line. She accessorized pretty minimally, letting the dress take the main focus.
Outfit 5: The Orange Striped Three-Piece for a Broadway Outing
Gomez went to go see Mean Girls after her Tonight Show filming on June 12 and got dinner afterwards in Chelsea. She wore another bright multicolored ensemble, choosing an orange and green striped top, skirt, and jacket. She accessorized with white sandals and a white purse.
Outfit 6: The Chanel Blue Print Dress With a Political Statement Necklace
Gomez appeared on Live With Kelly and Ryan this morning in another colorful outfit, although this time she opted for a cooler tone. Gomez wore a blue and white sleeveless button-down Chanel dress. She paired it with a Sophie Ratner 1973 necklace. The necklace celebrates the year Roe v. Wade was decided and a woman’s right to an abortion was upheld by the Supreme Court.
Gomez has been a vocal critic of states passing restrictive abortion laws or trying to outlaw abortion entirely. In a recent Instagram, Gomez wrote, “To see what is happening right now in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and several other states in our country is not only deeply upsetting but seems that it can’t possibly be real in 2019. It’s no one’s business what a woman chooses to do with her body. End of story. If you want to help fight this, click on the link in my bio to find out how you can volunteer or make a donation.”
