Announced in April, Peyton’s Places revisits seminal moments in NFL history and explores the sport’s cultural impact through Peyton’s conversations with former players, coaches and other key figures. Following the debut of the first four episodes, now available on ESPN+, additional episodes will follow each week throughout the 2019-20 NFL season, exclusively on the leading direct-to-consumer sports streaming service.

The episodes:

  • THE HUPMOBILE: Peyton drives a 1920s Hupmobile with comedian Jay Leno and learns how the NFL started with a car and a car salesman, Ralph Hay, in Canton, Ohio. He visits with Joe Namath, playing pool and discussing how Namath led the New York Jets to the historic Super Bowl III victory.
  • THE GREATEST CATCH: Peyton re-enacts a 1926 Giants publicity stunt by throwing a pass off the top of the Radiator Building in New York City to Hall of Famer Cris Carter in adjacent Bryant Park. The pass attempt was from 324-feet in the air and had to travel 112 yards to reach Carter.
  • HISTORY OF THE QUARTERBACK: Hall of Fame quarterbacks Roger Staubach (Cowboys) and Joe Montana (49ers/Chiefs) help Peyton explore the evolution of the quarterback and how it became the most important position in all of sport – and the face of every NFL franchise.
  • THE DRAFT: Host of CNBC’s Mad Money Jim Cramer welcomes Peyton to Wall Street where they discover how the stock market crash of 1929 led to the creation of the NFL Draft. Also, Peyton explores how an IBM 360 computer and Mel Kiper, a draftnik with no credentials, helped turn the draft into must-see television.
